Terms & Conditions

  1.  

    Offer

     

    Offers are valid for 30 days from the time of quotation and will be subject to availability and a site inspection prior to delivery. VAT must be added at the standard rate.

  2.  

    CPA Conditions

     

    All City Lifting plant is hired under the CPA Model Conditions for the Hiring of Plant (2001), including the Supplementary Conditions Applicable to Tower Cranes, all readily available on request.

  3.  

    Tower Crane Base - Fixed

     

    Site management are to liaise with City Lifting regarding the delivery date of any expendable crane base. Please note at least 14 days notice is required.

    Upon delivery of the base it is the responsibility of the site to off-load and correctly position the base, making sure it is plumb and level according to the manufacturer's specification.

  4.  

    Tower Crane Base - Cruciform

     

    It is the responsibility of the site to ensure that the base is level. If any shims are required, these can be supplied by City Lifting but at extra cost.

  5.  

    Erection/Dismantle Requirements

     

    Power must be available on the day of erection adjacent to the crane base.

    It is the responsibility of the site to ensure that there is hard standing provided to support the outrigger loadings of the mobile crane used for erection and dismantle.

    All major site works and deliveries should be kept to a minimum during the erection and dismantling of the tower crane.

    Transport, erection and dismantle prices are based on standard weekday working and with suitable access to within 10 metres of the base of the machine unless otherwise stated.

    We require a minimum of 4 weeks notice for all dismantles. Please note that if a road closure is required on erection or dismantle, the local authority may require a notice period of up to 16 weeks.

  6.  

    Slings/Chains

     

    If required we can supply as quoted for on page 2 under heading, "Tower Crane Additional Options".

  7.  

    Payment Terms and Invoicing Procedures

     

    If credit is granted then you must stay within the limit given at all times. Invoices are issued weekly and our payment terms are strictly 30 days nett from tax point. When hiring both machine and operator, we will invoice exactly as per the information contained within the operator's timesheet. It is the site's responsibility to ensure that all timesheets are accurate and duly signed on time by an authorised site representative as mistakes will not be rectified.

    At no point do we accept self billing contracts and under no circimstances do we entertain retentions or discounts.

  8.  

    Bank Holidays

     

    Only the machine rate will apply during statutory holiday periods.

  9.  

    Operator and Labour Information

     

    Operator and labour fees are subject to site or national wage awards as and when they occur.

    Unless otherwise stated, operator bonus payments have not been included in this quote, with these being solely at the discretion of the site. Should an operator's bonus be included on their weekly timesheet we will add a 16% surcharge to cover Employer's N.I.C.

    Minimum working hours will be chargeable per day as follows:

    Monday - Sunday     10 hours per day

  10.  

    Delays

     

    Refer to the CPA Conditions for details of idle time while working. Delays that occur during erection and dismantling that are beyond our control will be charged at day work rates unless otherwise specified. Inclement weather conditions are classed as beyond our control.

  11.  

    Road Closures & Traffic Management Fees

     

    No allowance has been made for council permit fees or traffic management fees unless otherwise specified. The cost of any local authority fees associated with obtaining road closures and/or traffic management fees, will be rechargeable to you including an additional 20% handling charge.

  12.  

    Hire Period

     

    Should the hire period fail to meet the original minimum hire period quoted for, we will reserve the right to review the machine's rate and may back date charges from when hire commenced, including changes to the original erection and dismantling costs. Furthermore, if the hire period exceeds 8 weeks over the originally stated, we will also reserve the right to review all charges.

  13.  

    Regulations

     

    The crane is hired on the understanding that it will be used in accordance with the requirements of the Construction Lifting Operation and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998.

  14.  

    Hirer to Provide

     

     

    1. A suitable certified base foundation to relevant British Standard, including all works and labour.

    2. Clear and suitable access, plus hard standing for mobile cranes and transport.

    3. A 400/440 volt, 3 phase power supply to the base of the machine, terminating in a switched fused isolator, all in
