Reach over St. James’ Square

One of our 6 axle Spierings cranes recently completed a contract lift in St James’ Square. The crane stood outside the old Libyan Embassy scene of the shooting of a young policewoman WPC Yvonne Fletcher.

The crane used its full 60 metre reach and was very busy the whole day. To do this job with a standard heavy telescopic crane would have probably taken three weekends. The precision and operating speed of the Spierings combined with the 20 minutes total rigging time made this job achievable given the limited working hours available in residential areas. Also our driver could always see the load from the elevated cab and by using his trolley mounted remote controlled camera.
