Contracts Completed

City Lifting recently carried out a contract lift installing steel grillages, large air handling units and 4 truck loads of sundry parts and equipment. The heaviest pieces weighed 7500Kg and were lifted at a radius of 68 metres over a 46 metre high building by a 500tonne mobile crane with luffing fly jib.

City Lifting organised the road closure and traffic management. We started rigging the 500 tonne crane at eight o’clock on Friday night, the crane started lifting at seven o’clock on Saturday morning and was de-rigged on Sunday.

The building in question was the headquarters of Marks & Spencer in Paddington and the rigging and de-rigging was made much more difficult by overhanging trees.
